A2Y DEI Event: Changing the Way We Think about Diversity and Inclusion
"DEI Journey Up the Continuum"
Changing the Way We Think About Diversity and Inclusion
In our last session, we discussed the basics of what Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is and what DEI is not. We talked about temperament, personality similarities and differences, and how they impact human interaction. We also talked about how to create a vision statement for DEI in business.
In this session, we will build upon the last session and go more in depth into establishing the right commitment of Diversity at Work for an inclusive workplace.
Description: In the last several years, the spotlight has been on diversity and inclusion. There is a need to level set around diversity and inclusion and what this means in the workplace setting. This session will explore the facets of diversity, what inclusion looks like and feels like in action and look at best practices in fostering inclusion in the workplace and promoting a culture where employees learn about one another, share experiences and grow both personally and professionally.
With more than 25 years of progressive experience in inclusion and diversity, health equity, community relations, and corporate social responsibility, Bridget Hurd has worked in the health care industry helping to facilitate stronger linkages among the community and health care institutions, addressing health inequities and driving cultural transformation in the health care community and among employees. She is a graduate of Wayne State University where she obtained a Master of Business Administration degree and the University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
We look forward to having you on the call!
