Our senior U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow is a champion for Washtenaw County, supporting autonomous and connected vehicle testing at the University of Michigan’s Mcity and the American Center for Mobility in Ypsilanti.
Senator Stabenow has partnered with our universities and colleges to increase advanced energy and NIH research funding and expand initiatives to train students and workers for high-skilled jobs. She also led the effort to establish the new U of M Center of Excellence in Nano-Mechanical Science and Engineering.
Senator Stabenow is ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and is a senior member of the Senate Finance, Energy and Budget Committees. She also serves as Co-Chair of the bipartisan Senate Great Lakes Task Force and Co-Chair of the bipartisan Senate Manufacturing Caucus. These positions give her a powerful and unique role to play in shaping our nation’s manufacturing, health care, and agriculture policies.
She is known for her ability to build coalitions to get things done for Michigan – and the nation.
