She also led the effort to establish the new U of M Center of Excellence in Nano-Mechanical Science and Engineering.\n\nSenator Stabenow is ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and is a senior member of the Senate Finance\, Energy and Budget Committees. She also serves as Co-Chair of the bipartisan Senate Great Lakes Task Force and Co-Chair of the bipartisan Senate Manufacturing Caucus. These positions give her a powerful and unique role to play in shaping our nation's manufacturing\, health care\, and agriculture policies.\n\nShe is known for her ability to build coalitions to get things done for Michigan   and the nation.
