Recycle Ann Arbor announces the Drop-Off Station is extending its operating hours by adding an additional day.

Ann Arbor, MI March 12, 2026. Recycle Ann Arbor is excited to announce that starting April 3, 2026, the Drop-Off Station will extend its hours by adding an extra day of operation each week! The Drop-Off Station will now be open every Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, increasing its operating days to four days a week.

“In the early 2000’s, Recycle Ann Arbor had to reduce the Drop-Off Station's operating days from five to our current three days a week. Thanks to the rising trends in recycling and sustainability, as well as our established and reliable local end markets here in Michigan, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to add a new day at the Drop-Off Station,” said Nate Oswald, Director of Operations at Recycle Ann Arbor.

With the Drop-Off Station now opening four days a week, residents and businesses will have increased access to convenient, community-supported recycling services for hard-to-recycle materials such as electronics, scrap metal, textiles, appliances, traditional recyclables, and more!

“Our experienced team is dedicated to our zero-waste mission and works diligently to ensure these valuable materials are recycled to their highest and best use. We are excited to expand our services to our customers for an additional day. With our new Friday hours beginning at 7 AM, this is a great opportunity for early-morning contractors to drop off items or for residents to conveniently recycle before heading to work,” stated Laura Jarels, General Manager of Recycle Ann Arbor.

The Drop-Off Station is conveniently located at 2950 East Elsworth Rd, Ann Arbor. Our updated hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Recycle Ann Arbor is a mission-based, non-profit, community-based zero waste recycler with a mission to change the way we use and dispose of materials. Founded in 1977, Recycle Ann Arbor started and operated the first curbside recycling program in Michigan. The organization is nationally recognized as a leader in recycling programs and has been instrumental in diverting recyclable waste from landfills and reducing pressure on natural resources. This forward-thinking organization uses innovation to help limit the abundance of reusable materials from ending up in landfills every year while supporting initiatives to improve the environmental quality of our community through the zero waste reduce, reuse, recycle model. RAA has pioneered a model of locally controlled community-based recycling and operates through five divisions: the zero waste Material Recovery Facility (MRF), the Recovery Yard, the Drop-Off Station, Curbside Pick-Up, and EcoPark.
