ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 2026 – R&L Heating and Cooling, a family-owned and operated HVAC company serving Southeast Michigan for more than 45 years, is proud to announce the opening of its new Ann Arbor, Michigan location on Friday, October 16, 2026. Located at 41 Enterprise Drive, Suite 3, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, the new office expands the company's ability to serve homeowners throughout Washtenaw County and reinforces its commitment to providing reliable, customer-focused heating and cooling solutions.

Founded in 1981 and led today by owner Jeff Bates and his business partner Joe Jernigan, R&L Heating and Cooling has built its reputation on honesty, quality workmanship, transparent pricing, and treating customers like family. Following the successful expansion into Madison Heights through the acquisition of Hearthside Heating, the Ann Arbor location represents the company's next chapter of growth across Southeast Michigan. "Our expansion into Ann Arbor is about more than opening another office," said Jeff Bates. "It's about bringing homeowners access to trusted HVAC professionals who genuinely care about helping them improve comfort, reduce energy consumption, and make smart long-term investments in their homes."

As the HVAC industry continues to evolve, R&L Heating and Cooling is placing a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, electrification, heat pump technology, and carbon reduction. The company helps homeowners maximize system performance through
proactive maintenance, high-efficiency equipment, and solutions designed to lower energy consumption and utility costs. R&L's maintenance-first philosophy helps customers extend equipment life, improve reliability, and avoid costly repairs while getting the most from their HVAC investment.

A key component of R&L's approach is its partnership with Daikin, a global leader in HVAC innovation. Customers have access to advanced comfort solutions, including the highly efficient Daikin FIT system, known for its compact footprint, quiet operation, and energy-saving performance. These modern side-discharge systems provide homeowners with a space-saving, high-performance alternative that delivers year-round comfort while reducing operating costs.

Beyond HVAC services, community involvement remains central to the company's mission. Through support of organizations such as the SNAP Program and Downriver ARC, R&L has demonstrated its commitment to helping local families and individuals with developmental disabilities. The company has donated HVAC equipment to families in need and provided financial support to organizations that strengthen the communities it serves.

"At R&L, our work is about more than furnaces and air conditioners," Bates added. "It's about helping people. Whether that's keeping families comfortable, helping customers save money on energy costs, or supporting organizations that make our communities stronger, we believe being a local business means giving back." As part of its commitment to becoming an active member of the local business community, R&L Heating and Cooling has joined the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional
Chamber (A2Y Chamber) and looks forward to building lasting partnerships throughout the Ann Arbor area.

With locations in Taylor, Trenton, Madison Heights, and now Ann Arbor, R&L continues to deliver the family-owned service, trusted expertise, and energy-efficient solutions that have earned the confidence of Southeast Michigan homeowners for more than four decades.
