New cohort for ‘Tech Ecosystem’ incubator begins in January; applications accepted through January 6
ANN ARBOR, Michigan (December 19, 2024) – Washtenaw Community College (WCC) will offer a second cohort of its Tech Ecosystem Development Incubator program aimed at fostering innovation and empowering local entrepreneurs.
The new session begins the week of January 27, 2025. Applications are open until January 6.
This collaborative initiative, funded and supported by the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti SmartZone Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA), Ann Arbor SPARK and WCC’s Entrepreneurship Center, marks a significant milestone in the commitment to build a robust tech ecosystem in Washtenaw County.
The Tech Ecosystem Development Program Cohort 2 is designed to provide essential resources, mentorship and networking opportunities to early-stage tech founders in the community. By offering access to experienced mentors, strategic support for technical development and financial planning and opportunities to connect with academic and business leaders, the project aims to equip entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed.
Participants will embark on a transformative 20-week boot camp featuring a blend of evening in-person and online sessions. The immersive program will offer $10,000 in funding for each participating business, facilitate invaluable insights from industry experts and create a supportive entrepreneurial network.
City of Ann Arbor- and Ypsilanti-based entrepreneurs with tech business ideas that demonstrate potential to improve quality of life in the community are encouraged to apply online.
“Our goal is to foster a culture of innovation and economic growth while addressing critical community challenges through technology,” said Michelle Julet, Director of the Entrepreneurship Center at WCC. “By empowering diverse founders and encouraging collaboration, we aim to create lasting impact and drive positive change in Washtenaw County.”
