Goodwill of Greater Detroit Opens Ann Arbor Donation Center and Bookstore

DETROIT (April 6, 2026) – Goodwill of Greater Detroit is making it more convenient for Ann Arbor residents to donate their gently used clothing and household items with the opening today of its new attended donation center and bookstore at 2015 W. Stadium Ave.

The donation center is fully staffed, making drop-offs quick and easy with the help of on-site attendants who can help unload donations. Some of the donated items Goodwill accepts include adult and children’s clothing, jewelry, shoes, electronic devices, furniture, toys, small kitchen appliances and much more.

The Ann Arbor donation center also features a bookstore stocked with a wide variety of gently used books available for purchase.

“Our new attended donation center gives Ann Arbor residents a convenient way to donate, granting gently used items a second life by keeping them out of landfills,” said Jeff Ukrainec, vice president of Donated Goods Operations. “Each donation fuels Goodwill of Greater Detroit’s mission of helping individuals within the community overcome barriers to employment – including mental illness and disabilities – with a portion of the sale of every donated good expanding our ability to do so.”

Items donated to the Ann Arbor donation center will be distributed to Goodwill of Greater Detroit’s retail stores located in Canton, Commerce, Dearborn, Livonia, Madison Heights, Southfield, Woodhaven and Ypsilanti. Proceeds from the sale of items sold are reinvested back into the community by funding free workforce development programs operated by Goodwill of Greater Detroit. Ninety-two cents of every dollar goes toward these programs. Goodwill of Greater Detroit’s donation centers and retail stores also offer employment opportunities to individuals experiencing employment barriers.

The Ann Arbor donation center and bookstore aligns with efforts by Goodwill of Greater Detroit to make donating across metro Detroit easier and more convenient for residents. The organization opened an attended drop-off center at its headquarters in Detroit in October 2025 and another in Brighton today, April 6, 2026.

The Ann Arbor bookstore and donation center hours are Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 7:00pm and Sunday, 11:00am to 5:00pm.
