DTE Energy has launched new features to its Power Improvements Map, which allows customers to compare year-over-year reliability performance by entering their local zip code.
Due to the impact of enhanced work and increased investment in the electric grid, coupled with less extreme weather, DTE customers experienced a nearly 70% improvement in time spent without power between 2023 and 2024. Now customers can search the Power Improvements Map via a local zip code and see how much reliability improved year-over-year in their neighborhood.
“When we invest, it works,” said Matt Paul, president and chief operations officer, DTE Electric. “Our work to build the electric grid of the future is showing results, but we have a lot of work ahead, and tremendous investment to be made, to achieve the sustained electric reliability improvements our customers demand and deserve.”
By adding smart technology to our grid, updating equipment, building new infrastructure and trimming trees, DTE is making progress towards our commitment to reduce outages by 30% and cut duration times in half by 2029. This effort is so important that we want our customers to know when progress is being made.
In addition to showcasing year-over-year reliability performance, The Power Improvements Map is designed so that every customer in our electric service territory can search their address and see where DTE is working to improve reliability.
