Zentangle Inspired Alphabet Workshop
There is a misconception that fun, play, and creating art distract people from being productive and focused. In reality, the opposite is true. Fun, play, and creating art can lead to increased focus, improved well-being, and greater productivity. The dictionary tells us that to doodle is to scribble absentmindedly and that a doodle is a drawing or pattern that you make while thinking about something else or when you are bored. In her TED Talk, Sunni Brown redefined “to doodle” to mean to make spontaneous marks to help yourself think. I like that definition much better.
The Zentangle® method is a great way relax, increase your focus, and o create beautiful abstract art by drawing structured patterns, called tangles. If you've taken the Intro to Meditative Drawing workshop and want to take it up a notch, consider moving on to creating Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA).
In this workshop we will draw / tangle an ornamental letter in a frame. You can use it as a bookmark, a thank you note, give it to someone as a keepsake, or display it in a frame or on a small easel.
Drawing materials will be provided in class (3.5″ x 3.5″ or 6″ x 6″ tiles, pen, pencil and tortillion). We will have letters to use as inspiration or you can bring one of your own.
Proof of having taken a qualifying Begginer level workshop is required to enroll in this Intermediate workshop.
