Washtenaw Community College’s Nursing Program to Receive Reaccreditation Visit from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing
Community Members Invited to Public Comments Meeting on Feb. 10 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Morris Lawrence building, room 103/123
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Washtenaw Community College nursing program will receive a reaccreditation site visit on Feb. 9-11 from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). WCC’s nursing program has been accredited since 1996 with its last visit in 2008.
To be reaccredited, WCC’s nursing department must meet all of ACEN’s standards and criteria. During the three-day visit, ACEN will meet with WCC’s nursing faculty and students, visit clinical sites on campus, as well as observe some of the nursing courses as part of its evaluation. In July, WCC’s nursing department will find out whether they’ve been reaccredited.
The public, including WCC alumni and patients who’ve been cared for by graduates of WCC’s nursing program, is invited to meet the site ACEN team and share their comments regarding WCC’s nursing program at a Public Comments meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Morris Lawrence building, room 103/123.
