Critters and butterflies, ghosts and goblins, superheroes and their sidekicks will fill downtown Ann Arbor streets for the 19th annual Treat Parade on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 11am to 3pm. Over 50 restaurants, retail shops, banks and offices will be ready to hand out treats and maybe a few tricks to the hundreds of costumed characters on Halloween. Participating businesses will fly black and orange balloons at their entrances and those offering non-food treats will additionally have a teal pumpkin displayed in their window.
The Ann Arbor District Library at 343 S. Fifth Ave. will join in the fun with a Halloween Party that includes stories, puppets and trick-or-treats. Due to the popularity there are two show times at 10 and 11:30am.
“The treat parade brings joy to the neighborhood,” said Sandra Andrade, Executive Director, Main Street Area Association. “The business community enjoys this event almost as much as the children. I highly recommend making your way downtown between 11am and 3pm on Halloween whether or not you have kids in tow, it’s totally worth the trip!”
All activities are free and open to the public.
