A2Y Chamber Event: Early Edition - Recreational Marijuana
Last November Michigan voters approved the use of recreational marijuana. The commercial sale of recreational marijuana requires a license from the state of Michigan, but municipalities (cities, villages and townships) have the right to opt-in or opt-out of allowing these commercial sales. So far, some municipalities have opted-in, and some have opted-out, while others are waiting on additional information before they make their decision.
At our October Early Edition, we will hear from the Mayor of Ann Arbor, Christopher Taylor, the Mayor of Ypsilanti, Beth Bashert, and the Mayor of Saline, Brian Marl. Our mayors will share more about the decisions their cities made, and what they expect as a result, both generally, and specifically for the local business community.
Do not miss your chance to learn more about this issue, hear from our mayors, and ask your questions about this important subject.
