Northstar Bank opened its first branch in Bad Axe in February 2001. In February 2007, Community Bank merged with Northstar Bank to offer additional full-service locations in Akron, Caro and Pigeon. 

In October 2013, Northstar Bank and its former sister bank, Seaway Community Bank, with locations in Algonac, Lenox/Richmond, Port Huron, and St. Clair, merged to offer an expanded geographic market area and product base. 

Our growth continued in December 2013, when our Ann Arbor loan production center converted into a full-service branch, and in July 2015, with the opening of our Ubly branch. In March 2024, our Port Huron branch moved to Fort Gratiot and in July 2024, our Ann Arbor branch moved to a larger branch on Lohr Rd.
