ANN ARBOR, MI (February 7, 2012) – The Ann Arbor Summer Festival is pleased to announce a special
pre-season concert with the multiple Grammy-winning Bonnie Raitt on Friday, May 25 at Hill
Auditorium. The legendary singer/songwriter/guitarist returns to Ann Arbor in support of her newest
album, Slipstream, which is released on April 10. Special guest Marc Cohn opens the show.
Tickets range from $35.50 to $65.50 and go on sale to the public on Monday, April 9 at 9:00 a.m.
through the Festival Ticket Office at (734) 764-2538 or online at A2SF.org. At the artist’s request, fifty
cents of each ticket sold for this concert will be donated to the ARIA Foundation, which will distribute
grants to local charities at the end of the tour.

More than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter,
Bonnie Raitt has become an institution in American music. With a unique style that blends blues, R&B,
rock, and pop, she was a cult favorite for twenty years before breaking through to the top in the early
90s with her Grammy Award-winning albums, Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw, which featured hits
such as, "Something To Talk About" and "I Can't Make You Love Me."

With nine Grammys under her belt and a long history of social activism, Raitt tours regularly
incorporating many benefit concerts into her schedule. After a brief hiatus, she is back and recharged
with a batch of great new songs to play in her live set along with the tried and true favorites that have
treated her very loyal following to countless memorable shows through the years.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's nineteenth album, Slipstream, is daring, bluesy, and steeped with the
inimitable slide guitar and soulful vocals that could only be hers. Out April 10th, Slipstream marks Raitt's
first new album in seven years, and the debut for her new label, Redwing Records.

Opening the concert is singer and songwriter Marc Cohn, who combines the precision of a brilliant
tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man. Cohn will play from his new album, Listening Booth:
1970, where he transforms songs from such artists as Cat Stevens, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and
Van Morrison. Cohn is best known from his critically acclaimed debut album and the song “Walking
In Memphis.”

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival is an exhilarating celebration of performing arts, outdoor
entertainment, and community spirit. A boutique music and arts festival, the three-week gathering
offers an array of ticketed and free events, both indoors and out, featuring a progressive mix of
local, national, and international artists. Presenting over 100 events each season and attracting a

event in the Ann Arbor community, and as a leading multi-arts celebration that enriches the cultural,
economic, and social vitality of the region. The festival’s 29th season runs from June 15 through July
8, 2012. The festival’s full season will be announced in the coming months.
