Keynote Speaker: Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Indonesian Ambassador to the US
Dr. Dino Patti Djalal is the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States, a speech writer, youth activist, academic, and author of a national best seller. Dr. Djalal joined the Department of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia in 1987. He has been posted to Dili, London and Washington DC, before being appointed as Director for North American Affairs (2002-2004). He was previously a Special Staff member for International Affairs and Presidential Speechwriter and Spokesperson for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono - a position he had held since October 2004, and extended when the president was reelected by a landslide to a second term in 2009. Dr. Dino Patti Djalal is the longest serving Presidential spokesperson in Indonesia's modern history.

Airlangga Hartarto, Chairman of Trade, Investment, and Industry Commission, The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia
Mr. Airlangga Hartarto was elected as Indonesia’s Member of Parliament in 2004. As the Chairman of Trade, Investment, and Industry Commission, Mr. Hartarto contributes to a range of worthwhile economic developments in Indonesia. Previously, he held the Chairman position of Energy, Environment, Research and Technology Commission (2006-2009). As an entrepreneur, Mr. Hartarto co-founded Fajar Paper, a leading packaging paper manufacturer in Indonesia. He also serves as three-time Chairman of Indonesia’s Association of Publicly Listed Companies. Mr. Hartarto has written the book Industrialization Strategy Clustering in Indonesia (2004). He graduated with Mechanical Engineering degree (Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia) and obtained dual Master degree in Management Technology (Melbourne Business School) and MBA (Monash University), Australia.
Simon Kahn, Head of Marketing for Asia Pacific; Google
Mr. Simon Kahn recently joined Google as Head of Marketing, Asia Pacific. Previously, he worked at American Express for thirteen years including serving as Country Manager for Singapore from 2008 to 2011. Prior to joining American Express, Mr. Kahn was Executive Director of Youth Venture, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. that works with young people to develop and run their own businesses and organizations. Mr. Kahn worked in national politics and government for four years before joining Youth Venture including working in the White House Liaison office in the Department of State. He holds a BA in Asian Studies from Swarthmore College and a Masters in Chinese Studies and MBA from the University of Michigan.
Bradley Lalonde, CEO & Co-Founder, Vietnam Partners, LLC
Mr. Bradley LaLonde co-founded Vietnam Partners in 2004 after a 25-year career with Citibank in a variety of international positions. Mr. LaLonde headed Citibank’s move into Vietnam and implemented the strategy that resulted in Citibank becoming the largest and most successful foreign bank in the country. Presently, Mr. LaLonde heads Vietnam Partners investment banking business. Vietnam Partners LLC is a boutique investment bank serving Vietnam and raises/invests capital, provides advice to clients and seeks unusual opportunities for trade and investment. Most recently, Vietnam Partners has secured the rights to distribute Chrysler brands throughout Indochina. Mr. LaLonde received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1975 and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in 1977. He currently resides in Hanoi.
Ramkumar Narayanan, V.P. Global Product Management, Yahoo! India
Mr. Narayanan is responsible for leading product strategy and management for growth in Emerging Markets and Small Business. Primarily focused on India and the Middle East, he was previously leading some of Yahoo!'s efforts in developing global advertising platforms, search, and a number of consumer products. Prior to joining Yahoo!, Mr. Narayanan served in many capacities at Microsoft, both in the US and India, including leading the Unlimited Potential Group in Microsoft India, bringing affordable & relevant technology driven solutions to underserved communities. He also has over 12 years of experience in the US auto industry working for Chrysler Corporation and Ford Motor Company, where in 1998, he received the prestigious Ford President's Customer Driven Quality Award.
John F. Kwant, Director of International Government Affairs for Asia-Pacific and Africa Matters; Ford Motor Company
As Ford's Director of International Government Affairs for Asia-Pacific and Africa Matters, Mr. Kwant responsible for fully advocating for all Asia-Pacific & Africa matters in the US and ensuring corporate alignment and collaboration between the US and APA markets on Ford's public policy and lobbying priorities. Mr. Kwant recently returned from a nearly three year assignment in Shanghai as the VP for Government Affairs for Ford's APA Operations, which represents operations in 12 countries with combined sales of over $10 billion. Mr. Kwant joined Ford in 1999, where he previously assisted in business development, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances surrounding Internet distribution channel partners.
Janny Lu, Chief Executive Officer, Ebinger Manufacturing & Jets Glove Manufacturing; President, Fuchi Textile North America
Ms. Lu serves as Chief Executive Officer for Ebinger Manufacturing (EMC). EMC is the manufacturer and master distributor for full range of industrial fasteners and construction related product. She is also the CEO of Jets Glove, U.S.A, and partner of Jets Glove Manufacturing, with 3 manufacturing facilities in China. Ms. Lu is also the President of Fuchi Textile North America, which is part of Fuchi Textile Company, a manufacturer of all types of fabrics and leather for automotive seating with manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Thailand. She is a recipient of the Michigan Top 10 Best Businessman award in 2001, and also the Presidential Award from the President of Taiwan as a Top 10 Outstanding Entrepreneur overseas in 2002. She also has experience serving as President of the Taiwanese Chamber of commerce in 1999.
Steven W. Percy, former Chairman & CEO, BP America
He chairs the Board of Wavefront Technology Solutions, a service provider to the the oil and gas and environmental remediation industries. He is also a member of the Board of Omnova Solutions headquartered in Akron. Since retiring from BP he has visited as a Professor at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Previously, he served on President Clinton’s Council on Sustainable Development as Co-Chair of its Climate Change Task Force. Mr. Percy has contributed to the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. His formal education includes a BSME, MBA, and a JD. He is an alumnus of the Ross School of Business where he received his MBA.
Joseph Osha, Managing Director, Senior Equity Analyst Global Solar Energy Research, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Mr. Osha is the senior equity analyst in charge of overseeing solar energy research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During his 20-year career in equity research Joe has worked in a variety of industries and locations. He began his career as an equity analyst with Baring Securities in 1992, in Tokyo. Prior to taking up his current role, he was head of Asia ex-Japan equity research for BAML, based in Hong Kong. H e joined Bank of America in 1995 as an equity analyst based in Tokyo. He returned to the United States in 1997 to cover semiconductor stocks, and worked in that capacity in New York and San Francisco until 2007. He relocated to Hong Kong in the fall of 2007 as a member of the research management team.
