EMU is hosting a Regional Gen AI Summit

On March 16, 2026, EMU will host a regional Gen AI Summit for K-12 educators, community college and university administrators, staff, high school and college students, workplace professionals, and interested community members.

This Summit is for everyone, and we hope many from the community will join us for what we hope will be inclusive, meaningful conversations and dialogue about how generative AI is reshaping our lives, work, and learning, and about how we can navigate these changes together.

Interested groups and/or individuals can complete this interest formand we will follow up in early February when the official registration opens. Students can attend the Summit for free, and we intend to keep costs for all other participants to a minimum. In line with this, we are seeking sponsorships and donations (and if you have any suggestions in those areas, we would greatly appreciate hearing them). If we raise sufficient funds, we intend to keep the event free for everyone.

We also are inviting workplace professionals, community members, educators, and students to consider presenting at the Summit. We are seeking a variety of perspectives, and we have numerous presentation options, which can be found on our call for proposals and proposal submission form. Proposals are due by midnight on Friday, January 23. Although this is soon, the proposal requirements are very simple and straightforward.

Our goal for the Summit is to create space for genuine and honest exchange where everyone's perspectives and viewpoints matter, whether you're just beginning to explore AI tools or are integrating them extensively into your professional practice and/or life. Our assets-based approach seeks to recognize the valuable knowledge and insight that exist across all sectors, perspectives, and experience levels.
