Destination Ann Arbor Expands Sales Team with Addition of Tasha Squires


ANN ARBOR, MI (September 9, 2025) - Destination Ann Arbor is pleased to announce the hiring of Tasha Squires as Business Development Manager, effective September 2, 2025. In this role, she will be responsible for promoting and selling the Washtenaw County region as a premier destination for meetings, conferences, and events, developing and maintaining relationships with key clients to drive room-night bookings and economic impact for the community. She will cover the geographic territory of the Eastern United States.

Tasha brings more than 25 years of hospitality and hotel sales experience, beginning her career in 1997 at the Westin Southfield. She went on to hold senior sales roles at the Marriott Renaissance Center, Marriott Detroit Metropolitan Airport, and Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport before joining MGM Grand Detroit, where she spent 14 years in sales leadership, most recently as National Sales Manager.

Her work has earned recognition and awards throughout the industry, including being named Supplier of the Year by the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals in 2021 and receiving numerous sales performance honors from MGM Resorts International during her tenure.

Beyond her professional achievements, Tasha is highly engaged in the meetings and hospitality industry. She holds the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation and has served in leadership and committee roles with numerous trade associations, including Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA), the Association of Meeting Professionals (AMPS), among others.

Tasha earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Administration from Central Michigan University, where she continues to be an active alumna and guest speaker in the School of Hospitality program.
