Supervisor:                 Finance Director
Status:                         Full-time, benefits eligible
Hours:                         40 hours/week, M-F with occasional planned evening and weekend hours
Pay Rate:                     Depends on experience

Position Qualifications
  • BA/BS in accounting, finance, business administration or similar field;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, data analysis, problem analysis and resolution, and ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team;
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and project management;
  • Ability to communicate work with individuals at all levels of the organization;
  • Handle confidential data with discretion;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience with fund accounting software, such as MIP Fund Accounting is desired.

Purpose of Position:
The Accountant is responsible for completing accounting and fiscal tasks of the agency in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles, and for appropriate enforcement of agency policies and procedures.  This position works closely with other Finance team members to ensure separation of duties so that no one employee has sole control over cash receipts, disbursements, payroll, and reconciliation of bank accounts.  Job responsibilities include post-award financial grant management, cash management, internal and external reporting, and financial system and data management.
