Sports Medicine Summit and Networking Event
SECOND ANNUAL SPORTS MEDICINE SUMMIT
The Legacy Center is proud to host the Second Annual Sports Medicine Summit on Friday, April 28th. This year’s summit will be headlined with educational contributions provided by Athletico Physical Therapy, Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and The Sports Neurology Clinic. A certified continuing education course covering “On Field Management of Cervical Spine Injuries” will kick off the festivities.
Athletico’s Regional Manager RC Edwards had to say about the course. “Athletico is looking forward to partnering with the Legacy Center to provide free CEUs to local ATs and PTs to help further prepare health care providers for the betterment of the communities we all live in.”
A networking event will follow the morning educational series where participants have an opportunity to interface and enjoy complimentary refreshments. This is great opportunity as the Greater Brighton Area, Hartland and Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Chambers have all been invited to join the summit festivities. “We enjoy offering a multi chamber platform for professionals from all around southeast Michigan to engage with one another,” said Jimmy Banish, Director of Marketing at the Legacy Center had to say. “Internal chamber events are always beneficial, but throwing multiple chambers into one event gives you a greater opportunity to meet someone new.”
A Physicians’ Panel featuring orthopedic Dr. Kris Aalderink, St. Joseph Mercy Health System, and neurologist Dr. Jeff Kutcher, The Sports Neurology Clinic, will headline the day’s activities.
“Sports & fitness are an integral part of our society and a key to good health and well being. With athletic activity comes the risk of injury, which can be debilitating. I am honored to share my knowledge as an orthopedic surgeon with a focus on sports medicine as it relates to common athletic injuries and treatment,” comments Dr. Kris Aalderink about the panel. Both speakers will touch on a topic of their choice and will be followed by a Q&A segment that will be moderated by Legacy’s Director of Sports Medicine, Nate Santoni, AT, ATC.
The summit will conclude with a Titleist Performance Golf Clinic powered by LaFontaine Automotive Group and Prestwick Village Golf Course. Three separate time slots for the clinic are open to adults, high school and young athletes from around the area. The clinic is proud to offer some of the state’s best instruction that will be powered by three PGA Professionals, John Seltzer ,Dan Urban and Brent Goulding.
