"Sonia Flew is a play for our age," says the Boston Globe. When Sonia learns of her son's decision to enlist in the military and fight in Afghanistan following September 11, memories of being forced to leave Cuba in 1959 overwhelm her. She must come to terms with her past, her lost parents and country- or risk losing her own children. Set between post-revolutionary Cuba and post September 11 America, "Sonia Flew" telescopes the political forces of each historic moment and their impact of the lives on ordinary people.
