Stout Systems, a leader in both the software engineering consulting and technical staffing sectors, is pleased to announce the next in a series of free educational workshops geared towards Software Development Managers and those responsible for managing software projects.
This workshop is currently open for registration:
Workshop Topic:
User-Centered Design for Software Development Leaders
Overview:
User-centered design is a broad discipline.
- How can you introduce it into your software development practice?
- Where should you start?
- Are there any best practices that you can leverage?
- What in the heck is user-centered design in the first place?
Seating is limited, so register today at: http://bit.ly/2prJgSR
During this workshop, Stout’s most experienced software development managers will:
- Define what User-Centered Design is, and what it is NOT.
- Discuss the many different disciplines involved in proper User-Centered Design (i.e., User Interface Design, Information Architecture, Information Design (IxD), Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors/Ergonomics, etc.) and the work that is involved in each discipline.
- Discuss how you introduce User-Centered Design into existing projects (hint: it is highly dependent on the maturity of the project and where it is currently at in its’ product lifecycle).
- Wrap-up by discussing Best Practices, Worst Practices, and the errors that are most commonly made in implementing User-Centered Design.
- An understanding of the various approaches that professionals can utilize when designing or fixing a user interface.
- A good sense of which issues they would benefit from hiring a professional to help resolve.
“We are always looking for ways to give back to the technical community, and to the loyal customer base that has been the key to our success for 20+ years,” said the company’s President, Peg Bogema. “Software development is one of the most rapidly changing of all professions. Our team has gained a wealth of experience and learned a multitude of valuable -- and sometimes difficult -- lessons during our long history of developing and implementing software solutions for our clients. We felt that we could provide a significant value to our constituents if we offered them the opportunity to share in these lessons and learn from our most experienced technologists and managers.”
